Q&A Meet with 1st thru 4th Graders

Four of us from this years team visited with the 1st thru 4th graders today about the upcoming Costa Rica trip. The kids were so attentive and curious. Brian showed them a small video of some of the trips from previous years. Showing the fun that everyone had at the VBS that we brought to them.

Brian explained what we were going to do, and why we wanted to do it. He told them of lifestyle, food, and various other aspects of life in Costa Rica. Many of the kids were surprised to hear some of the differences from the US.

When we opened it up for questions, the kids did not slow down asking about various things. The questions were all really good, and thought provoking. It showed that they had listened to Brian explaining the trip earlier. We finally had to stop the meeting to let the kids get back to their classes.

What a wonderful opportunity to spark future interests in missional lifestyle and trips.

Gift Bags!

This year we had a very special donor not only supply all of the funds for this years gift bags, but painstakingly put each bag together themselves.
Each bag with have various items for various aspects of our lives. Sweets, toys, school supplies, personal hygiene, and others products will make up the 100 gift bags that will be handed out to the people of El Capulin.

Surprisingly, all of these items fit into this gift bag (which is included in the packs).

Thank everyone for supporting this trip. We are all getting so excited to get down there and build so new relations, and strengthen old ones.

May 15th Meeting

In our last meeting, our fearless leader Brian encouraged us by sharing updates, news, and any upcoming important events that we need to be aware of.

In each meeting, a few people share their testimony for the group. It has really helped to see a side of others that we normally would not have known in everyday conversations. Brian also has us practicing different things with one another, so that when we arrive, we will be as ready as possible to accomplish each of our parts in the week long journey. Each time Brian encourages us to get with someone that we didn't know before, to help with the overall bonding of the team.

This week, we practiced sharing the Gospel to each other. It may sound easy for most people. But for some, it pushes us beyond our comfort zone, so that we may grow and be a more useful tool for God.

Brian has taught us two different methods (out of zillions) of easily sharing the gospel, and to emphasize that we are saved by Grace, and Grace alone. NOTHING that we do can save us from our sin, only the faith that we have in Jesus as our Savior. This is important because of the area where we are going.

If you have not already joined us in support donations or prayer, we would encourage you to do so. As we get closer to our departure date, we are going to need more of both!

8 Weeks Out!

While we are still working away at getting ready, the trip is coming up on us very fast. Only 8 more weeks before we fly out to Costa Rica. I am looking forward to an incredible time with the people of Costa Rica, and experiencing the culture and countryside of this beautiful country.
I encourage you to continue to think, and pray for us as we are getting closer to departure day. Our excitement is building, and the anticipating growing. We can't wait to see what God will do on this years trip.

Thanks for your encouragement!
